Beam Content is looking for an experienced content marketer to lead client strategy and relationships.

From heading up client onboarding to working with the Head of Content on editorial strategy, this is your chance to work on projects you can get excited about.

We'll save you the whole "hop on the rocket ship" speech—but if you're ready to roll up your sleeves and learn on the job, this might be the role for you.

Who You Are

We're looking to work with an experienced content marketer. You should:

(a) already know good content like the back of your hand

(b) be looking to grow into the next level of your career by owning strategy, client relationships, project management, and measurement.

That said, we're open to working with the right fit no matter where you're coming from. Maybe you've managed content for an agency, worked in-house at a startup, or built your own freelance business.

You have:

  • Hands-on, recent writing experience for mid-market and enterprise B2B SaaS
  • Experience managing a campaign or working on content strategy
  • Some experience working with vendors, freelancers, partners, or customers
  • A drive to treat social networking as part of the role
  • At least 4 years of experience in content marketing
  • A learning-first mindset

We're hyper focused on thought leadership content in the form of ghostwritten articles, features, long-form guides, and social media. By steering away from SEO, we get to work on fun projects with interesting clients—partnering with them for editorial strategy, writing, design, and distribution.

Our Mission

We are reorienting the role of content within the go-to-market organization: there isn't content marketing and then everything else. There's strategic and engaging content that connects to everything else.

Buyers have higher expectations than ever—they want to be able to do their own research, self-serve when possible, and drive their own decisions instead of getting routed to sales every single time. Sales is adapting, demand gen is adapting, customer success is adapting—how long until B2B content adapts, too?

Our Team

We currently have four full-time team members and a dozen top-tier contractors. You'll be our fifth hire, working alongside our Head of Content to create a stellar experience for our clients and with our CEO for strategic sales and renewal conversations.

Yes, we have plans to grow. But we want to stick to our values in getting there: doing excellent work for our clients and building an excellent culture with a talented, driven and happy team. We want to maintain the antithesis of "growth at all costs." We're willing to take a few years to reach our goals if it means we keep fulfillment top-tier, keep work/life balance at the forefront, and keep projects interesting.

The Responsibilities

Client Success (50%)

  • Serve as the point of contact for all client communication with bi-weekly calls, shared Slack channels, and ClickUp calendars
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of client content
  • Lead new client success initiatives focused on retention

Client Strategy (30%)

  • Run client onboarding during the first 4 weeks of new projects
  • Distill client conversations into topic ideation and content guidance
  • Work with our Head of Content to coordinate SME interviews, and gather documentation

Consultative Sales (20%)

  • Lead discovery calls and strategy calls with inbound leads
  • Work with our CEO to identify opportunities for referrals, renewals, and expansions
  • Share your work on social to build Beam's brand within content marketing
