High level overview: DX is looking for a strong content marketer who would be in charge of strategy, process, and execution of content, including content creation and copywriting in the short term. Looking for a strategic and hands on operational content marketer who can help grow this team over the next 2-3 years.

The role in more detail: DX is looking for an experienced content marketer to help us deliver on our company’s big, strategic bet on content marketing. We are looking for a highly knowledgeable, creative and process-oriented content marketing expert who has hands-on experience creating online (and potentially offline) content. This role is essentially the maestro of the orchestra when it comes to content creation. The all in one expert for content: the architect, strategist and the content pro, who would also manage all freelance, and eventually in-house talent.

You’ll be the first full-time hire on the marketing team and will report directly to the Head of Marketing, Jenny Sidorova. Jenny has a deep background and passion for content marketing, so you can look forward to a shared understanding of the work and its challenges, fruitful exchanges of ideas, and constructive encouragement to push yourself to improve and grow.

Must be a self starter, think outside of the box and can experiment and iterate rapidly to find the most effective ways to grow readership, increase brand awareness through content and build credibility in the eyes of our target audience (independent cinemas). Requires at least 2-3 years prior content marketing experience which should include copywriting and asset creation.

A proficient Content Marketing Manager will be responsible for inbound marketing strategies such as blogs٫ social media٫ and the generation of leads. This position would be a great fit for a creative marketing professional looking to put their writing and content development background to use. Content developed needs to be fresh٫ up to date٫ and engaging for the customer. Being current on new technologies and marketing trends is vital to success in this role. The expansion of the company’s digital footprint is your ultimate goal٫ along with long term global brand awareness.

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have a genuine passion for all things related to visual and written communication, including visual marketing, design, data visualization, visual storytelling, presentations, infographics, etc
  • Have a past work published online examples to share
  • Have experience of all types of content creation, including articles, blog posts, e-books, infographics/data visualization, videos, and so on. With experience working with freelancers or agencies.
  • Have exceptional copywriting, research and editing skills
  • Develop and manage the existing marketing content calendar across a multiplicity of channels
  • Regularly produce long-form content for our blog, with a focus on organic search opportunities - in partnership with free-lance writers and illustrators
  • Monthly newsletter creation through Hubspot (you would do the writing)
  • Interview customers and internal subject matter experts for the insights you need to produce nuanced, credible work
  • Establish success metrics for your work, report on results, and refine your work, accordingly
  • Longer term, hire and manage a team of freelancers and/or full-timers to accelerate content production
  • Inspire team members in unique ways to keep content fresh and submit their ideas
  • Achieve business targets through content marketing strategies
  • Be a brand ambassador of DX on your own Linkedin
  • Ensure that all content is consistent with written style guide and brand guidelines

What do the first 2 years look like:

  • First 6 months: you’ll focus on making sure our existing content marketing process is the right one and making changes where you can see room for optimization. This includes all steps of the content marketing journey: ideation, decision making, content creation, content management, content activation, and content measurement. You’ll also evaluate the tools we use to create content as well as the free lancers we work with. In parallel to this evaluation and early changes, you’ll also dive right in and start to develop content as well as be part of driving our brand building efforts. You’ll be part of evaluating how our product should go-to-market from a content perspective for marketing and sales materials. You’ll also participate in a Brand Refresh project we are kicking off in January.
  • 2nd 6 months: we will want to amplify and grow our content materials around product, further optimize our existing process to integrate more co-created and curated content (versus today where we have 98% created content). You’ll continue to support the the marketing, sales, and product teams by developing offline and online marketing materials.
  • 2nd year: You’ll own process, execution, and creation (versus sharing the responsibility with the Head of Marketing and Marketing Manager in your first year). You’ll continue to create content but have a bigger budget for external talent with the incentive of hiring 2 full time in-house team members in the 3rd year. The opportunity to grow into a Senior Content Marketing Manager role will present itself towards the end of the 2nd year.

Your qualifications

  • At least 3 years of content marketing experience, preferably in B2C and B2B SaaS, but not a must
  • A self-motivated executor who thrives in startups, particularly in a fully-remote work model. You should like asynchronous working and be an avid writer, oversharing
  • A native English speaker located within European time zones
  • Deep dissatisfaction with “good enough” content
  • A curious mind. You love improving your understanding by interviewing other people about their insights and experiences
  • A true marketer. You want to deeply understand our product and our customers so you can deliver value with the right message
  • An analytical approach. You know how to use data to make decisions
  • SEO experience
  • Content editing and writing (including long-form content)
  • Experience leading/coordinating with freelance writers, designers, developers, video producer
  • Project management skills
  • Passion for storytelling, social media, and brand building
  • Past transversal marketing experience is a plus

About the Marketing team: the Marketing team is comprised of a head of Marketing and a marketing manager. In 2023, we will be hiring a Content Marketing Manager. The team oversees all external and internal marketing, focusing on 1/ betting on content, 2/ the right channel-distribution strategy, and 3/ leaning on our Norwegian roots as we expand in new markets. The team is particularly fond of brand building and doesn’t think that SaaS b2b content has to be boring. In fact, the opposite. We are the more extrovert leg of the company so we also see ourselves as the internal brand ambassadors.
