Senior Content Marketing Manager

Hopps is shaping the future of work with a marketplace that powers on-demand, immediate expert help for some of the most popular software platforms (e.g. AdWords, Wordpress, Shopify, HubSpot, etc.). We have removed all friction from engaging freelancers and getting help at work, by creating a service where anyone can have a live vetted expert appear on screen to help you, within five minutes. This includes setting up, troubleshooting, optimizing, or discussing strategy regarding the key tools you use at work all day, every day.

Fresh off a $6m seed fundraising round with San Francisco VC firms Freestyle and Reach Capital, and based out of sunny Los Angeles (though we hire remote as well), we are quickly building a passionate team from the ground up to change the way people boost productivity, find and utilize freelance experts, and the way companies build teams. Role Overview

We are seeking a savvy B2B content marketing manager as we refine our marketing strategy, test numerous channels, and drive early growth. As our second full-time marketing hire, you will have an exciting, diverse, and critical role driving marketing success across many aspects of a fast-moving startup’s marketing efforts. The proverbial wearing of many hats at a startup is also true in this role as you’ll oversee content-related channels such as social media and email marketing, as well as our company website content and conversion. Experience at early-stage startups is critical to ensure that you are well-versed in the versatility and flexibility to apply your skills across the many channels you'll manage.

Responsibilities

* Build and drive content marketing strategy and implementation with well-researched, creative, and results-oriented content ideas that create value for our audience, yielding fast-growing, qualified lead lists and new customer acquisition. Manage our freelance writing team, in-house content experts, and video hosts.

* Execute effective, targeted content marketing campaigns with distribution and delivery across paid media, email, social, and blog to drive brand awareness, our lead pipeline, and revenue.

* Oversee email marketing. Create effective email nurturing campaigns with compelling  copywriting, well-time timed messaging, and bullet-proof automations that turn leads into customers. Must be able to generate ideas that drive email audiences to action. You will own the entire process from writing to implementation (using ActiveCampaign).

* Manage all social media accounts to build awareness, and drive value for social followers, leads, and customers. Must be able to create unique content that tells the Hopps story and conveys our value proposition in colorful ways beyond “me too” B2B social content.

* Own the optimization of our website for capturing leads. Update and improve content, constantly measuring and optimizing conversion rates.

* Track and report on demand generation performance metrics, using this data to optimize campaign performance continually and meet marketing OKRs.

 

Your Background & Skills

* 6+ years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years at an early-stage startup. You know the ownership, drive, tenacity, and initiative that propels startups in fast-paced competitive environments.

* 4+ years of B2B content marketing experience, ideally at a SaaS (or similar) startup.

* Excellent writing skills with the versatility to create compelling content and copy that successfully conveys the Hopps value proposition and drives action across unique channels (email, website, social media, content marketing).* Natural instinct for identifying and creating engaging content ideas with demonstrated success in content campaigns that build high-volume traffic, quality lead generation, and high-percentage customer acquisition.

* Proven track record leading SEO research and strategy to ensure that content successfully drives visibility and high-quality inbound leads.

* Diverse portfolio of creative and effective content including blogs, ebooks, videos, webinars, infographics, and other content, demonstrating the ability to connect with audiences and build brand trust and engagement

* Highly accountable self-starter with the ability to collaborate, but also work independently.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and apply a test, learn, and iterate mentality to optimize results.

 

Location

The role can be remote from any U.S. location. Our HQ is in Los Angeles. We operate on Pacific time but are flexible with schedules in other time zones.

 

Compensation

 Salary Range: $110k-$140k (plus equity). We also offer full medical, vision, and dental coverage, flexible PTO and work schedules.
