The Job

We are looking for smart, creative and empathetic Content Editors to help us better serve our clients in Software/SaaS, Biotech, HealthTech, Green Tech, Venture Capital Portfolios and Marketing & PR Agencies. This is a freelance position. You may work from anywhere you like, as long as you have overlap with EST/EDT business hours (to accommodate our team's schedules).

The Content Editor will review each piece of content at least twice — from an early outline to a nearly final draft — and use each review as an opportunity to drive the writer's continued growth.

The Content Editor is responsible for:

  • Editing B2B articles, blog posts, white papers, case studies, etc. 
  • Ensuring all deliverables align with the client's marketing strategy and meet Stratabeat's quality standards
  • Ensuring all deliverables follow the content brief, and achieve the proper structure, tone, style, and on-page SEO
  • Providing support, training and constructive feedback to writers
  • Improving existing editing processes
  • Helping Stratabeat hire writers by reviewing applications and interviewing candidates

  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A demonstrated ability to understand content marketing strategies and edit individual content pieces accordingly
  • A desire to help writers improve and to elevate content to the high quality standards
  • Strong interest in one or more of the following verticals: B2B Software/SaaS, Biotech, HealthTech, Green Tech, Marketing Agencies
  • Ability to work autonomously, research issues and formulate solutions
  • A desire to drive massive success for clients and to work in a fun, creative, collaborative environment
  • Positive, driven, self-starting attitude
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Background in one or more of the following B2B verticals: Software/SaaS, Biotech, HealthTech, Green Tech, and/or Marketing Agencies
  • Familiarity with WordPress
  • A proven track record of successful writing and editing long-form content
  • Excellent attention to accuracy and detail
  • Experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring others
  • The ability to communicate why changes should be made
  • The ability to patiently explain writing concepts from multiple perspectives
  • The ability to balance feedback with encouragement
  • A willingness to step back from day-to-day editing work to improve existing processes and systems
  • Expert gif usage for Slack and a compelling argument about the pronunciation of the word "gif"

Reports to

  • This role reports to our COO and will work closely with our account team members.
