Reports to: Director of Operations

Revmade is an award-winning woman-owned marketing and communications firm based in Washington, D.C. that specializes in audience intelligence and data-driven content development to drive business impact. They are seeking a Managing Editor to join their growing team.  

The Managing Editor will lead the management and delivery of editorial products and content on behalf of the company’s client projects. 


Content Management (65%)

  • Use audience data and insights provided by Revmade’s analyst team to create editorial ideas according to strategy on behalf of Revmade’s clients - including but not limited to concepts for digital publications, video, social media activations, and more
  • Review and edit assignments developed by the organization’s creator network to ensure work is high quality and on strategy; manage internal content reviews and loop in company team members where necessary  
  • Deliver assignments by deadline and within budget to determined point person (company team member and/or client)
  • Edit content for audience interest, clarity, quality, adherence to strategy, grammar and punctuation
  • Oversee creation/optimization of channel content, including at times drafting copy (ie. headline, newsletter, social media copy, etc.)

Project Management (25%)

  • Manage project delivery timelines, budget and editorial/content calendars on behalf of company’s clients
  • Task creator bench with assignments and assure these creators are working within the parameters of the timeline and budget
  • Suggest improvements to help refine/improve existing creative processes, creative products, and delivery systems
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to troubleshoot issues as they arise, improve creative products/processes, and ensure optional product delivery 

Networking and Recruitment (10%)

  • Promote company via established digital or in-person networks with a specific focus on outreach to high-quality creators
  • Lead research efforts for growing the roster of high-quality contributors across verticals (eg health, business, travel, etc) and categories (eg journalistic article content, social media content, email newsletters/products, ad copy, design, etc)


  • 3-5 years of experience creating content calendars and assigning stories in a digital/editorial environment
  • Experience working in journalism, including at the collegiate level 
  • Experience in project management
  • Strong news judgment skills, with the ability to work within client goals 
  • Experience working on a team that leveraged freelancer creators, including at the collegiate level 
  • Understanding and familiarity with packaging content for digital distribution/optimization
  • Understanding of and focus on how content performance informs future editorial decisions
  • Proficient in common platforms to support operational efficiencies (e.g., Asana, Google Products, Mailchimp, Canva)
