434 Marketing is a remote-first content marketing agency. We have been in business for over ten years, working to propel our clients’ missions forward through marketing. 

In the early days, we sought to be a low-cost provider with a broad offering to allow for experimentation and less capital risk for our clients. Then, as we measured what worked, we honed our team’s skill set around writing, design, video, and SEO.

 That’s where you find us today. We are a small and close-knit team laser focused on creating high quality content with the goal of becoming a trusted content marketing agency for B2B businesses.

 The Content Team Lead is a new role at 434. We’re looking for an experienced content marketer to manage our growing team of creators, both in house and freelancers. In this role, you'll help propel the content strategies for our clients, moving their respective missions forward. 

 We believe in stewarding other people’s money as if it’s our own. This means we place emphasis on content performance, research, and optimizations to maximize the success of our content and distribution. Your day-to-day will reflect this, having variation as you work towards driving qualified traffic alongside a strong team.

 If you are a curious soul, with a love for creating, managing people, advising the team on their strategic thinking skills, and using your knowledge and experience in content marketing to help others grow, this is the perfect position for you. This role reports to our Content Marketing Manager, and also works closely with our CEO.

 About You:

  • You have 3+ years of content marketing experience, ideally in B2B, SaaS, and/or tech. 
  • You are opinionated about content marketing, and can speak clearly and persuasively about what qualifies as quality content (and why)
  • You are excited about managing content creators and helping them grow in their craft
  • Your references would call you a self-starter
  • You have at least 2+ years of management experience, ideally of freelance writers, designers, and editors
  • You have a strong interest in B2B, SaaS, and/or technology and a thorough knowledge of how to create ToFu, MoFu, and BoFu content.
  • You have experience in created strong thought leadership and sales enablement content
  • You’re versed on tracking and reporting on the impacts of your strategies––relying on data to drive decisions and measure impact
  • You can tie micro work back to macro goals and tell a story about results so that your team members are able to share successes with stakeholders
  • You’re no stranger to SEO and SEM, having experience with on-page and technical SEO SEO and creating posts optimized for search, using Ahrefs, SEMrush, ClearScope, GatherContent, Gong, or similar tools for research
  • You embrace an experimentation mindset and enjoy research 
  • You desire and have the ability to work hours aligning with Eastern Standard Time (EST)
  • You are authorized to work in the United States 

What you will do:

  • You will work with a creative team to produce high-quality content for our clients 
  • You will report to our Content Marketing Manager, and also work closely with our CEO
  • You will support and manage a content production team, both freelance and in-house, of writers, designers, and editors
  • You will advise on strategies for clients, leveraging your strong understanding of how to use content to achieve success
  • You will work closely with our clients’ sales and product teams to develop content ideas
  • You will support 434’s own content efforts by sharing your knowledge and experience 
  • You will take both performance-based and creative approaches to content; you will be an expert at balancing the two to help our team create high quality content for our clients
