Senior Manager, Editorial
Chicago, IL, USA Remote
ActiveCampaign is hiring a Senior Manager of Editorial to lead a team of writers and turn the ActiveCampaign blog into a branded publication. You can read the full job description here.
Listen to my interview with content director Benyamin Elias here:
There are plenty of reasons to consider working at ActiveCampaign. Its the fastest growing SaaS company in Chicago (though it's now gone remote). It's also a bread-and-butter SaaS company, helping 120,000+ sales and marketing folks reach their customers. As a content person there, you get to work with an experienced team to sell a proven product.
This role specifically is intriguing because it's essentially a head of content role. This person will lead a team of writers and own an editorial calendar. Benyamin chose the title to reflect the wide range of content activities happening at ActiveCampaign—the blog is incredibly important, but there's quite a bit more going on. (If you want to learn more about Benyamin, you can listen to the podcast we did together.)
Here are a few things that stand out about this job:
- You'll need to be able to write, edit, run a content calendar, do some content strategy, and manage a team. It really is a senior-level role. If you're a mid-career content professional looking for the next challenge, you might be a good fit for this role.
- You'll be both "maker" and "manager." You'll still be on the ground doing some of the work, but you'll also be collaborating with the broader marketing team (of 50+ people). This can be a nice mix for folks who still love to write and edit, but want to lean into their budding management skills.
- You'll have the resources to do your job. The marketing team includes folks who specialize in revenue marketing, social, brand, webinars, SEO, PR, and more. You'll have a small army of folks to help you succeed.
